Youth of Lyme Regis Powerboat Club

Great news for the youth of Lyme Regis Powerboat Club

The first national ski race of the season took place in Plymouth on 21st May. Conditions were testing, with high winds and rough water, but the competition was on!

Lyme Regis came away with some fantastic results, especially in the children’s category.

Skiing in his first national race, 9 year old Sam Hopkins took the chequered flag and first place in Brit Kids A (up to 11 years) – whilst skiing on a pair! His dad, Damo was driving and James Bartlett observing.

Joe Veater was another win in Brit Kids B (12-14 years), with Tim Mayers driving. This win is even greater because Joe is only 11 and skiing in a category higher than needs be!

Other results for Lyme were:

Seniors: Richard Kirk 1st, with Damian Hopkins and Tim Mayers

Seniors: Rod Hawkins 2nd, with James Bartlett

Open class: Pamela Evans 2nd

Men’s F2: James Bartlett 4th
